A reluctant goodbye

The Blue River Association for the Arts was organized in 2008 with the aim of supporting artists and the arts in the south-central Indiana area. It was headquartered in Milltown, Indiana, which lies in both Harrison and Crawford counties, and drew members from a multi-county region.

Our primary activity was operation of an artists' cooperative gallery and arts market in Milltown. The gallery sponsored a student art competition and exhibit, and hoped also to offer art lessons and mentoring for area students.

However, despite enthusiasm and support from many members of the community, the group ultimately proved too small to be viable over the long term. After three years of struggle, we have been forced to close the gallery and disband the group.

Our thanks to the many art lovers who visited, patronized, and offered support for the organization and for the gallery. We appreciate you all.
